Opposition to the deconstruction, as far...Hi Scott,<br />Opposition to the deconstruction, as far as I can make out, is due to a desire to see the Cathedral retained and restored in the form it has been cherished by through many generations of Cantabrians. While it could be restored to original condition etc if deconstructed (and if sufficient funds are forthcoming), it is more difficult to believe this will happen than if a stay of proceedings is called and then a decision is made to fix it up as it is.
