Installation of the Archbishop of Canterbury

Thinking Anglicans has links here to assist in viewing the service etc [albeit, for Kiwis, in the wee small hours of Thursday morning].

Short post this week because time is short. God willing next week will be time richer!

  3. From where the western sea gnaws at the coast of Iona,
To the death in the desert, the prayer in forgotten places by the broken imperial column,
From such ground springs that which forever renews's the earth
Though it is forever denied. Therefore, O God, we thank Thee
Who hast given such blessing to Canterbury.

  4. Where are all the debaters of the world? Getting lonely here on the comments section!

In other news, the survey showing rising attendence numbers in UK churches, and on which the Bible Society based their Quiet Revival report on, has been withdrawn:

  5. And before I bring down the ire of other debaters, I am well aware that God gives us freedom to choose our own paths so who am I to judge? But I thought the path to life was narrow and involves difficult choices?

  6. Thanks Mark, interesting to read your Guardian article. Last night I read this one by Tim Wyatt:

"But throughout it all, the Bible Society has held firm. They’ve not just stood by their story, they’ve aggressively attacked people like me who have questioned their findings or raised concerns. They’ve dismissed the scepticism of a slew of well-respected statisticians and sociologists who also find the Quiet Revival thesis hard to believe."

  7. Hi Moya
I have deleted a comment you have submitted because it says something about the life of an archbishop but it is the wrong archbishop - I think you are describing the life of ++Cherry Vann of Wales and not ++Sarah Mullaly of England!

  8. Thanks. I didn’t realise and glad for Sarah Mullaly.
