Peter, I guess that only John (The Beloved Disciple) could have written of the intimacy of Mary's action when she anointed the feet of Jesus and dried them with her hair. This action probably still shocks the likes of those who can hardly dare think of Jesus actually receiving intimate acts of love. It must sometimes grieve them that Jesus was the subject of intimacy with his friends. This is a sad commentary on the paucity of sympathy some of us Christians have for the sacrament of 'touch'.
