"25“My days are swifter than a runner;
they fly away without a glimpse of joy.
26They skim past like boats of papyrus,
like eagles swooping down on their prey."(Except the "without a glimpse of joy" bit ... I am a happy camper in the midst of terrific bizziness.)
These words are very meaningful, Peter; certainly to me, having now reached 88 and having crossed the world - yet again - to be with elderly and dying relatives in the U.K. And yet - in the quietness of companion-ing such people, one is able to glimpse the eternal verities still present - even in the fading light of human existence. God is the eternal reality. whose life we are privileged to share in the celebration of the Mass. Deo gratias!
