Odd

The 'please do not wear your mitre' story about Presiding Bishop Schori's presiding and preaching at Southwark Cathedral recently gets high level confirmation in this ENS story. With an odd twist: ++Schori was asked to provide evidence of her ordinations to each order. Strictly speaking this (I imagine, having once lived and ministered in the CofE) would be a legal requirement, not odd per se. But what is odd is requiring such evidence of someone so well known. We will not be requiring such evidence Down Under :)

Why be annoying at a time when tensions are high?

Perhaps Rowan is trying to make Katharine look good ... and "taking one for the team" on this count...

Probably not, but perhaps he is making himself look petty so she can look even more mature and wise than she is already...

Or, perhaps he has his undergarments in a wad...

Or perhaps ++Rowan is trying to take some of the American heat off BP ...

Hmm, BP is short for British Petroleum and Bp. is sometimes used to abbreviate "Bishop." Coincidence? Or, is there a more sinister explanation? Perhaps Peter Carrell is on to something...

If only the ABC was as concerned about overturning the Scriptures' teaching as he is about mitres...
As Pter Carey says, it makes him look petty and KJS look like a victim.

Maybe the C of E is going to loose a lot when BP pays no dividend.
