Covenant meeting at Theology House

(For Canterbury readers ...)

Is the Anglican Covenant making progress towards adoption, or not?
This and other questions about the Covenant will be discussed at our next Theology House Hot Button meeting:

7.30 pm – 9.00 pm, Wednesday 10 November, 2010

Contributions from all present are welcome, for and against the Covenant.

Peter Carrell and Bryden Black will definitely say something, but the floor will be open to all.

This is an opportunity to engage with the Covenant debate ahead of our March, 2011 session of Synod.
All welcome!

Why have you not purposely invited and announced someone to be present of your honorable opposition to at least offer an argument against the Covenant?

Hi David,
Good question! I did invite the NZ representative of the international coalition against the Covenant but he had a more pressing engagement. While Bryden and I are know 'pro Covenant' I do not intend to speak for the Covenant but to try to set out the fors and againsts and some related matters to do with what it means to be a Communion. Otherwise the floor will be genuinely open to all points of view. Out of this experience we may be able to sharpen up the debate on the occasion which will matter, namely our Synod discussion on the Covenant, likely to happen in our March, 2011 session.
