Our troubles are very small by comparison

Whatever is going on here in NZ re Anglican troubles, they pale into insignificance besides Chaldean or Assyrian church troubles.

The sheer awfulness of this almost defies belief. It increasingly seems that 2000 years of a Christian presence in Iraq is going the way that almost 3000 years of Jewish presence went only a few decades ago.

It seems that there is nothing any Western outsiders can do but pray - including for both wisdom and courage for the church leaders - and yet it is difficult to pray with a belief in making much difference.

Agreed lets pray hard. That the old Ninevah is the last stronghold of christianity in Iraq is ironic. Let's also pray for the Muslim's in this city who also desire peace.
